Year 2 Term 1

Year 2 Forest School Sessions

Over the next two months the children will begin to experience seasonal change. With the very hot summer they will be able to observe the impact of this on our site too. All activities encourage children to enquire about the natural environment, to respect and care for living things and develop a love of the outdoors.

On Forest School days please ensure your child's legs and arms are covered, even if it is warm. Autumn weather can be very unpredictable, so please make sure your child has a waterproof coat in school on Forest School days. These simple measures not only ensure that your child remains comfortable, they also provide some protection from stinging nettles and biting/stinging insects. Whilst the risk of ticks is low they do carry a risk of severe illness and these measure reduce that risk further.

Rowan Class Session 1

Rowan class had a fantastic first session at Forest School.  Everyone was very eager to explore the site.  The children went on a scavenger hunt to find natural materials to create a piece of Forest School art work. There was lots of team work and you will see from the pictures below that there were lots of imaginative ideas about how to create a Forest School picture.
