Welcome to Acorn Class

Nursery Teacher: Mrs Rea McMordie

Early Years Support Worker: Miss Hannah Brett

Learning Support Assistant: Mrs Lucy Roberts

Our weekly and daily plan is heavily influenced by the lines of enquiry that the children are interested in pursuing.

Staff are continuously assessing the children, ensuring that every child is gaining the experience and skills that they need, to ensure successful outcomes and to prepare them for school.

Daily essentials that are needed in Nursery

  • A clearly named water bottle
  • A named bag containing spare clothes
  • A packed lunch in a named lunch bag or box (only for children staying all day)
  • Please ensure that packed lunches do not contain any nuts or nut products, including Nutella
  • Named outdoor clothing
  • Named wellies

Early Years Library

We are fortunate to have a small library within our department, this is filled with books that the children can select themselves.  They learn to put their library books back into the correct sections and enjoy the experience of choosing a book to take home and share.  Our library day is every Monday, please bring the book folders or bookbags in on this day.  Books that are brought in later in the week will be changed the following Monday.  We do have some very smart DPA bookbags, if you would prefer to use one of these to bring in the library books we would be welcome this.
