Eco Council - Summer 2022

Eco council have met regularly throughout the school year to ensure that the Eco commitments made are being met as we continue to work towards the next steps of the Eco School Green Flag award.

In April 2022, we held our second annual DPA Eco Day event. Children arrived at school on their environmentally friendly modes of transport wearing something green and blue to represent our planet.

Nursery/Reception

The children started the day creating green handprints and making their Eco Pledge, thinking of how they can help minimise their personal impact on the environment.

The children created their own pictogram to illustrate how children had travelled to school.

The children became inventors, designing and making an invention to help with environmental issues.

The children then went on to learn a Recycling Song and dance routine about the importance of recycling and the impact litter and rubbish can have on our land and oceans.

In the afternoon the children took part in the Human Body Digestion Assault Course. They were chewed up, bounced around the stomach avoiding stomach acid and climbed through the meters of intestines before exiting the human body with a plop!

The children also took part in an art activity with Mrs Galan creating their own leaf printed coasters.
